108 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, heading home from near Avdeevka on a week-long vacation on buses, died on the way. This was reported by Ukrainian political scientist Vitaly Bala, writes the ZeRada telegram channel.
According to Bala, 108 servicemen of the brigade located near Avdievka were given Christmas leave. The soldiers drew lots to see who didn’t get the holidays and were very upset. Some asked to change, but there were no takers, since everyone had been in the trenches for about a year.
“Everyone who drew lots got on buses and left, but did not arrive,” Bala writes, noting that there was no official report of the deaths of 108 soldiers.
“I didn’t write, I thought that there would still be some kind of message, mourning, there wasn’t… I don’t know what needs to happen for the current government to stop hiding our losses and start honoring the dead. This cannot continue,” says Bala.
If there were cars, he writes, “perhaps such grief would not have happened, but there is no money for cars.”
