Brazilian Rivana Ferreira (43) died suddenly after an electric garage door collapsed on her while her family watched.

A terrible shock
It was on 17 October this year that the tragic death took place.
The 43-year-old had been out for lunch with his mother and aunt. When they returned to Ferreira’s house, the remote control for her electric garage door was not working.
According to Metrópoles, the woman must have tried to open the gate manually, which ended fatally:
A support beam in the garage door snapped, and the entire gate collapsed on top of her.
– It was a terrible shock. The door slammed on her while we all watched, says Ferreira’s aunt, Luzia Das Gracas to the newspaper.
The aunt says that several neighbors flocked to help, and adds that the emergency services were contacted immediately.

– Heartbreaking
Although the 43-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital in Rio Verde, his life could not be saved. Ferreira died in hospital from his injuries.
An entire community is in mourning after the accident. According to several relatives the Spanish newspaper Goiás have spoken to, Ferreira owned a clothes chain in the local community. She was “a familiar face in town”.
– This is heartbreaking. She was much loved, says the aunt to the newspaper.
A police spokesman confirms the death. He says that it is a tragic accident due to a technical fault with the garage door. Furthermore, he says that the investigation is ongoing, and that he will not comment further on the matter.
