The cause of the young athlete’s death has not yet been determined, but according to “Bild”, cardiac arrest is suspected.
“We express our deepest condolences to Mia’s family at this difficult time and wish them the strength to survive this tragic event,” said the press service of the German Gymnastics Federation.
In 2022, Litke became the German junior champion. In the same year, he got into the adult team.
Litke’s dream was to participate in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
“She was one of my first students when I moved to Ulm. She was talented, worked hard and always gave 100 percent in training. She was very passionate and wanted to be at the Olympics. I’m sure she would achieve that. I can’t imagine , which her family is currently going through,” said the athlete’s coach, Magdalena Brzeska.
