A victim of sexual assault that occurred on a hiking trail in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul eventually died.
The victim was hospitalized in a state of unconsciousness and was being treated at a university hospital in downtown Seoul.
The suspect, Mr. Choi, is undergoing ‘interrogation before arrest’ at the Seoul Central District Court from 2:30 pm today (19th).
The arrest warrant was charged with ‘injury such as rape under the Punishment of Sexual Violence Act’, but it is expected to be changed due to the death of the victim.
A decision on whether to issue a warrant will be made later this afternoon.
On the morning of the 17th, Choi hit and raped a woman without a face while holding metal knuckles in both hands on a hiking trail in a hill connected to a park in Sillim-dong.
