Courtney Fannon, a teacher who was four weeks away from becoming a mother for the first time, died after collapsing at her school in upstate New York.
Fannon, a 29-year special education teacher since 2018 at Kendall Central School, in a rural community about 30 miles northwest of Rochester, She was found unconscious on Friday at the end of the school day, reported USA Today.
That day the school had been closed to students due to training for teaching staff, spokesman Steve Dawe explained.
The teacher had married Kurt Fannon in August 2022 after 10 years together and I was due to give birth to a girl in just 4 weeks, but tragedy struck them. There are no reports that she or her unborn baby had any health problems.
On Friday, Fannon passed out shortly after sending a text message to her husband. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors tried in vain to save her and her daughter, whom they had already named Hadley Jaye. The teacher died in the night and The cause of death has not been disclosed.
“The world lost two beautiful souls, Courtney Fannon and Hadley Jaye Fannon, long before any of us were ready to live in a world without them,” Matt Smith, a friend of the widower, wrote in a GoFundMe page which at the moment has already raised more than $59,000 dollars.
“Hadley, to the sweet girl who never had the chance to live in this world. “It comforts me to know that you did not leave alone and that you will always be cared for by your loving and attentive mother,” Smith added.
Courtney and Hadley’s funeral mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. this Saturday at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Churchville, Monroe Countyhe detailed New York Post.
“Courtney was a special education teacher who served her students with passion and joy every day,” said School District Superintendent Nicholas Picardo.
