Yesterday, Thursday, the wife of the poet Mounir Bou Assaf, Mirella Zalaket, died after a struggle with a virus that spread throughout her body, infecting her lungs and forcing her to be hospitalized for a month.
Information indicated that Mirella died as a result of being infected with a virus while pregnant with her second child, which caused her to miscarry weeks before her death.
A number of Lebanese artists mourned Bou Assaf’s wife, including composer Bilal El-Zein, who commented on his Facebook page, saying: There are times when a person is unable to express himself and cannot find words that can describe what he is feeling.
He added: It is true that death is real and it is true that we know that we are all going and no one will live forever. It is true that we have all lost our loved ones. I recently lost my father and not long ago I lost my mother. But in the end, despite the pain and this great loss that cannot be compensated, this is the rule of life, and they are the first and we are the next.
