Paollo Oliveira died, aged 27, in Vietnam
Paollo Madeira Oliveira, Portuguese-Brazilian forward, died this Saturday, aged 27, reported HAGL, the club he represented, on social media. The player died following a brutal road accident in Vietnam – the country where he played – which also killed two other professionals at the club, assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh and doctor Dao Tong Tri. The driver was seriously injured.
The light vehicle in which Paollo Madeira was traveling collided with two trucks, according to reports in the Vietnamese press, which showed impressive images of the accident.
Paollo Madeira was born in Brazil but came to Portugal early, as the family decided to try their luck in the Albufeira area. Formed in the schools of Imortal, the striker reached seniority in Albufeira and the good records presented motivated the change to Farense. In Portugal he also represented Quarteirense and Estrela da Amadora.
This was the striker’s second year in Vietnamese football, now at the service of HAGL, after representing Hong Linh Ha Tinh in 2022.
Farense has already reacted to the sad news on social media. “It is with great consternation and regret that Sporting Clube Farense communicates the news of the death of former athlete Paollo Madeira. To the bereaved family and his friends, we offer our most heartfelt condolences”, it can be read.
Quarteirense has also mourned the death of its former player. “The Football Department wants to address condolences to the family and friends of the athlete Paollo Oliveira, who in the 2014-2015 season represented Quarteirense. You still had so much to give Paollo, your smile while you played will remain in our memory”, it reads. on Instagram of the Algarve club.
