Ghana national team player Rafael Dwamena died during the match between the Egnatia and Partizani teams in the 13th round of the Albanian Football League.
The 28-year-old Ghanaian previously suffered several setbacks due to heart problems, but continued to play despite this.
Dwamina collapsed less than half an hour after the start of the match, which was tied with one goal for each team. The ambulance immediately intervened and he was taken to the hospital.

The Ghana Football Association published a statement after the incident, writing: “Our thoughts are with Dwamena’s family at that difficult time. He represented Ghana with all his heart and did his duty to his country until his moment came. We will miss him forever.”
It is worth noting that Dwamena played with the Ghana national team in the 2018 Nations Cup qualifiers and scored two goals in his career, which came in his opening match against Ethiopia, and he did not appear much after that, except on several separate occasions.
