The star of Euphoria, Angus Cloud He died as a result of “acute intoxication” caused by the “combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines,” the Alameda County forensic team indicated, adding that it was an accidental overdose.
Cloud, who played Fezco O’Neill in the popular series, was found dead in his family home in Oakland. His mother was the one who, around 11:30 a.m. that Monday, called the police and the local fire department about a “possible overdose” after finding him without a pulse.
Shortly after, the authorities arrived at the scene but could do little. They pronounced him dead on the spot.
“It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human being today. As an artist, friend, brother and son, Angus was special to all of us in many ways,” his family lamented that day in a brief statement.
In any case, the months before his death were not easy at all and the actor himself had alluded to the difficult time he was going through and his struggle with mental health.
On May 18, a few weeks earlier, his father, Conor Hickey, died following a brief battle with cancer.
“His cancer spread quickly, it was devastating for all of us who loved him, now, we are comforted to know that his pain no longer continues,” his mother, Lisa, commented at the time.
This loss had a great impact on the actor.
“The only consolation we have is knowing that Angus is now with his father, who was his best friend,” they commented at the time of his death from those around him and added that “we hope that his death can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight alone in silence.”
“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone,” they concluded in the note.
His death was also mourned by his castmates of the successful series, who shared photos and messages on social networks.
“Words are not enough to describe the immense beauty that is Angus. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to know him, to call him a brother, to see his warm, kind eyes, and his bright smile, or his infectious laugh. I know many use this quote to refer to people they love… ‘he could light up any room they walked into’, but let me tell you, he was the best at it. I would like to remember him for that, for the infinite light, love and joy that he always gave us. “I will cherish every moment,” Zendaya wrote on Instagram.
Also, HBO’s own account published an image of the actor along with the message: “We are incredibly sad to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We express our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this difficult time.”
Meanwhile, in Oakland, his friends gathered to paint a mural that became a place of tribute to him.
