A 22-year-old Dutch woman died on Monday during a descent in the Swiss Alps. According to Swiss media, the victim fell 350 meters and was already dead when the emergency services arrived.
The woman climbed the more than 4,300 meters high Dent Blanche in the Swiss Alps together with a climbing partner. She fell during the descent. The woman’s climbing partner was unharmed.
The Royal Dutch Climbing and Mountain Sports Association (NKBV) reported her death on Tuesday. The woman was a member of that association.
How the accident happened is still unknown. The Swiss public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation in cooperation with the police.
