A two-year-old boy died after half his face was pulled off after a family vacation at Disneyland.
Doctors confirmed to little Dax Beck’s family that his symptoms were likely the result of Bell’s palsy, which is a temporary, treatable weakness or lack of movement.
In reality, the child was suffering from something much more serious, but his parents, Devon and Johnny, had no idea he was ill.
They continued their journey and enjoyed the magic of the entertainment place in Paris, France.
But when they returned to the UK, Dax began vomiting, losing his balance and struggling to walk in a straight line.
After he was taken to the hospital, MRI scans revealed an acoustic neuroma, a type of non-cancerous (benign) brain tumor.
But Dax’s condition worsened, and over the next six weeks the tumor grew stronger and spread beyond his ear canal, causing it to bleed.
After surgery to remove it, he was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer, according to the website “The Sun”.
Dax’s body was unable to recover, and his parents made the heartbreaking decision to bring him home, where he died in his mother’s arms a short time later.
