Tragic Death in Ngawi: Wife Dies After Wisdom Teeth Removal – Husband Seeks Accountability from Clinic

Davin Ahmad Sofyan (28), a resident of Gendingan Village, Widodaren District, Ngawi, he had to lose his wife, Nira Pranita Asih (31). His wife suffered a decline in health after having her wisdom teeth removed and eventually died.

Reported detikJatim, Nira was pronounced dead on April 27 at Oen Solo Hospital. The woman died after undergoing a post-operative thoracotomy (surgery to open the chest) on February 30, 2024 due to Nira’s breathing problems.

Davin admitted that before undergoing thoracotomy surgery, his wife first underwent surgery to remove molar teeth on December 28, 2023.

Two days after the removal of the wisdom teeth, the woman experienced swollen gums and complained of a headache and spoke to the clinic in Walikukun, Widodaren District, Ngawi.

“We extracted the tooth at the doctor’s clinic in Walikukun on 20 December 2023. We first consulted whether this wisdom tooth was normal or not. After an X-ray, the doctor said that the to remove this tooth because it was causing him a headache and so on detikJatimThursday (9/4/2024).

David suspects that there were signs of a mistake when his wife’s molars were removed. He also asked the Walikukun clinic doctor to take responsibility.

“We hope there will be accountability from the clinic that performed the surgery to remove my wife’s molars,” Davin said.
