Surata said that as a result of domestic violence, Sutarini fled from Malang several times to her hometown in Klungkung, Bali. According to Surata, the victim maintained her household with James because she did not want to leave her two children.
He also said that Sutarini planned to return to Klungkung on Wednesday (3/1). However, Sutarini was killed and then mutilated by her husband, James, in Malang on Saturday (30/12).
Meanwhile, Sutarini’s younger brother, I Komang Suardana, also said that James had gone to Klungkung to look for Sutarini before Christmas. According to him, James had insulted him and accused his wife of having an affair.
“At that time his son number two was accompanying him. Here he got angry saying that his wife was cheating on him and had been missing for a long time. He even threatened to kill (Sutarini) if he was found,” said Suardana.
