Fayoum – Hussein Fathi:
A state of sadness dominated the people of the village of Talat, which is affiliated with the Fayoum center, after the news of the death of 3 of its youth, as a result of a traffic accident that claimed their lives, while they were returning from Cairo Airport after saying goodbye to a friend to Cairo Airport.
Major General Tharwat Al-Mahlawi, Director of Fayoum Security, received a notification from Brigadier General Ali Jaber, Director of the Roads and Ports Department, stating that 3 young men were killed and another injured in a collision of their car with a concrete pillar, while they were returning from Cairo.
4 ambulances moved to the accident site, under the supervision of Dr. Hani Hammam, director of the Fayoum Ambulance Facility. The bodies of the victims were transferred to the morgue of the Health Insurance Hospital in Fayoum and Tamiya Central Hospital, and the injured person was transferred to Fayoum General Hospital, where he suffers from brain hemorrhage, and his condition is unstable.
In the context, engineer Ahmed Bahnasawy, a resident of the village of Talat, said that the victims were traveling in a friend’s car on the return trip, as they were accompanying one of their friends to see him off at Cairo airport, while he was traveling to a Gulf country to work there.
He added that the village was covered in black, especially since all the victims were of the age of flowers, and that one of them, called Taha Salah Musharraf, had been married for 18 months, and left a young child.
The inspection of Colonel Wael Abdel-Hay, Undersecretary of the Fayoum Traffic Department, revealed that the accident occurred as a result of a collision with the iron gate separating the borders of Fayoum Governorate from the Giza Governorate near the Dahshur Desert, and that the cause of the accident was due to excessive speed.
Dr. Hatem Gamal El-Din, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Fayoum, said that one of the victims died at the scene of the accident, while 2 died inside Fayoum General Hospital, and they were transferred to the morgue of Fayoum General Hospital, while Mohamed Ramadan is being treated in the neurosurgery department at Fayoum General Hospital.
He said that the three deceased are Taha Muhammad Musharraf, Mahmoud al-Sharqawi and Muhammad Nasser, and the necessary report was issued on the incident, and the Tamiya Prosecution Office, which is in charge of the investigation, was notified.
