The bus contains a group of students from SMAN 1 Sidoarjo accident on the Solo-Kertosono Toll Road. Two people reportedly died, while the rest were injured.
“The current data is that one person has died and 23 have been injured,” said Ngawi Police Head of Traffic Unit AKP Sapari as reported by detikJatim Friday (19/1/2023).
Dozens of injured victims were immediately taken to different hospitals in Ngawi for treatment. 15 people were treated at Widodo Hospital, 3 people were treated at At-Tin Husada Ngawi Islamic Hospital, and 5 were treated at Dr Soeroto Regional Hospital.
“There are 15 people being treated at Widodo Hospital, 3 at At-Tin Hospital, and 5 at Dr Soerto Hospital,” said Sapari.
Sapari said the injured victims mostly had bruises and abrasions on their feet and hands and were still in hospital. For parents who want to visit their children, please coordinate with the Ngawi Police Traffic Unit.
“For parents who want to visit, coordinate with the Ngawi Police Traffic Unit to be taken if they don’t know the hospital,” explained Sapari.
Another death victim, namely a student named Nabil Asfa Putra (17), died while being treated at At-Tin Husada Hospital. The bus rolled off the highway after avoiding a truck that had a burst tire. The bus had an accident at KM 577 A, Solo-Surabaya.
