Tragic Bus Accident Near Shah Noorani Shrine Leaves 17 Dead, 38 Injured

KARACHI: At least 17 people were killed and 38 injured when a bus carrying pilgrims overturned near the border town of Pakistan’s Sindh and Balochistan provinces. The pilgrims were going to worship at Shah Noorani, a remote Muslim Sufi shrine in Balochistan’s Khusdar district on the day of Eid. The accident site is about 100 km from Karachi.

Condoling the incident, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the driver lost control and the bus fell into the gorge. All the passengers are from Thatta town in Sindh province.

The vehicle left Thatta on Wednesday afternoon and met with an accident at 8 pm. The dead and injured were taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi. A local police officer said some of the dead belonged to the same family.
