Two young men died and three women were hospitalized after a spectacular car accident this morning in the Bronx that sent one of the vehicles into a pillar of a New York Subway station.
The three women were in a Nissan Rogue about to turn left from East Fordham Road onto Jerome Ave. at 4:13 a.m. Saturday when a BMW X4 struck them, police said.
The 21-year-old man driving the BMW lost control of the luxury car, which continued moving forward and crashed into a pillar of the elevated station at the Fordham Road station on line 4. He and his 20-year-old passenger died at the scene. Their names were not immediately released pending family notification, he said. Daily News.

The three women who were in the Nissan Rogue are between 26 and 36 years old and were rushed, but in stable condition, to St. Barnabas Hospital. It is not known if there is any link between them.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash on Saturday. In a similar case, in December Tiana Rodríguez (21) died dramatically when the luxurious Lamborghini SUV car in which she was traveling as a passenger caught fire after hitting a subway beam in Upper Manhattan, interrupting that service.
The day before, yesterday three people died in a spectacular road accident that caused a fire on a highway in New Jersey.
The authorities remember that there is zero tolerance for drivers who drive at excess speed and/or under the influence of alcohol and drugs..
Traffic accidents are a great challenge in New York and In many cases the drivers flee. This despite “Vision Zero” road safety plan created in 2014 by then-new Mayor Bill de Blasio, who promised to make the city safer for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists with a goal of zero deaths for this year 2024.
In December Governor Kathy Hochul signed the “Angelica Law”, intended to keep drivers with prior suspensions off the road by charging repeat offenders who operate vehicles after committing five or more traffic violations that resulted in suspensions or revocations as a felony.
