A tragic accident occurred in Heimfeld: a young man fell through the roof of a hall on Wilhelm-Weber-Strasse on Wednesday morning and fell about ten meters down. For him any help came too late.
The police and fire brigade were informed at 7:30 a.m.: When the first forces arrived at the local recycling center of a private company, employees had already started resuscitating their colleague.

Paramedics from the fire brigade then took over and fought for the young man’s life for more than 45 minutes – in the end in vain. “He succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” said a police spokesman for MOPO.
The body came to the institute for forensic medicine, the identity of the dead was initially unclear. Witnesses to the incident were taken care of by the German Red Cross (DRK) crisis intervention team, and operations were suspended.

The LKA 45 – specializing in work accidents, among other things – took over the investigation. Officials plan to fly a drone later today to take aerial photos of the accident site. The circumstances of the fall are still unclear. Presumably the man was on the roof doing work. “The investigation must now reveal more details,” the police spokesman continued. (dg)
