Tragedy rocked the sidecarcross world championship in Kramolín in the Pilsen region. The passenger of one of the foreign competitors died after a tragic accident in the veteran race. The organizer canceled today’s other races.
“Following a serious accident today during the Veterán Sidecar race in Kramolín – a support race of the FIM Sidecar Motocross World Championship, the race program for the rest of the day has been canceled at the request of the local authorities. As always in these situations, our thoughts are with those affected.” the organizers informed in a statement.
“The great festival of sidecarcross in the Czech Republic was prematurely ended in the first round of the first race of veterans. The foreign crew H. Bijlmakers – R. Boom had an unfortunate fall after the start, which the co-driver unfortunately did not survive. The Sajdkárcross community lost a great person, friend and mechanic. Our Team #77 would like to express our sincere condolences to the entire family.” described fan club competitor Josef Peták on his social networks.
Kramolín hosted the third part of this year’s championship, on Saturday the competitors completed qualifying runs. In the second half of August, the twelfth event of the season is planned in South Bohemian Kaplica.
