Today’s accident, which happened on a cycle path in Český Krumlov, has tragic consequences. A 47-year-old woman was riding her bicycle downhill and, according to police, probably failed to brake, veered off the bike path and hit a protruding tree stump. She suffered very severe injuries and died on the spot.
The accident occurred today after two o’clock in the afternoon on the cycle path between the villages of Zlatá Koruna and Štědře. “A 47-year-old woman was riding her bicycle from a steep descent, when she probably did not brake enough, she reached the edge of the road, where she veered off the road and hit a protruding tree stump,” described the police spokesman Milan Bajcura.
The woman suffered very serious injuries. Despite the quick intervention of paramedics, she died on the spot.
“Traffic police requested the arrival of the departure group of the criminal police and investigation service. They are investigating this accident as a cause of death due to negligence and have ordered a medical autopsy.” added Bajcura.
