Mancheri (Malappuram)∙ Five people, including sisters and children, were killed when a bus carrying a Sabarimala pilgrim group from Husur, Karnataka hit an auto. The accident happened at 5.30 pm in Mancheri Chettiangadi.

Auto driver Thanipara Puthuparamban Abdul Majeed (50), wife Tasneema (33) of Karuwarakund Valayur Muhammad Riaz, children Rinsha Fatima (12), Raiha Fatima (4), Tasneema’s sister and Kuttipara Hameed’s wife Muhsina (35) died.
Five people were injured. Tasneema’s son Muhammad Rayan (one year old) is in critical condition. Tasneema’s mother Sabira (58) and Muhsina’s children Fatima Hasa, Muhammad Hasan and Muhammad Mishad were among the others injured. They are undergoing treatment at Mancheri and Kozhikode Medical College Hospitals. There were 22 passengers in the bus but no one was injured. The front of the bus is damaged.
