Four fans of “Levski” died on Friday night on the Sofia-Varna road, driving home after the match with the German “Eintracht”, in which the blues achieved a draw.
The accident occurred after a car hit a truck in the oncoming lane, near the junction for Troyan and Lovech, near the village of Bulgarene. Overtaking is prohibited in the section.
Five people were traveling in the car, only one of them survived. The truck driver was not injured.
The dead were from Gabrovo, eyewitnesses reported on social networks.
“They are from Gabrovo. We were the third car after the crash. We saw how other leftists helped the surviving boy out of the car. His father was a driver,” says Toma Tomov in the “Fans of PFC Levski Sofia” group.
“All of us at PFC “Levski” grieve and offer our deepest condolences to the relatives of those who died. Rest in peace, “blue” angels! We are sure that you will support your beloved “Levski” wholeheartedly in heaven!” the football club wrote on its website.
“Eintracht” (Frankfurt) also offered condolences for the fallen supporters of the Bulgarian team.
“We express our deep sympathy to their families and PFK Levski Sofia and we wish them strength”, the German team wrote on their profile on the social network Twitter. In Bulgarian, the addition is: “We express our deep sympathy to the relatives and the club. Be strong”.
