Tragic! At least 14 people died and three others were injured when lightning strikes two houses in the northwest Pakistan.
As reported by the news agency AFP, Monday (13/9/2021), the incident occurred on Sunday (12/9) local time in Torghar, a mountainous area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where heavy rains and landslides have caused chaos since last Wednesday (8/9). .
“At least 14 people from the same extended family were killed after lightning struck two adjacent houses,” Kamran Bangash, the province’s spokesman, told AFP. AFP.
He said the dead included five children and four women.
The rainy season, which usually lasts from June to September, is essential for irrigating crops and replenishing water supplies throughout the region Pakistan. However, every year the rainy season has also brought waves of destruction.
In a similar incident in November 2019, around 18 people were killed struck by lightning in the Thar desert, Pakistan.
