Tragedy involving migrants near Sofia, bTV learned.
According to data from the Sofia Emergency Service, 18 people suffocated while being transported in the trunks of a truck.
Ambulances and several police patrol cars were dispatched, as were officers from the Metropolitan Emergency Service.
Five teams are working on the ground with the wounded who are gassed. At least 10 people were injured and emergency medics are treating them on the spot. 14 people are in a very serious condition. Two of them were taken to “Pirogov”, two to “Sveta Anna” and two to VMA.
The signal came in around 2:15 p.m. today and was about an abandoned truck in the area of the village of Lokorsko and a group of people around it. There are no reports of a traffic accident.
The transported migrants were about 40 people who traveled hidden in a hidden hideout under transported timber. Migrants spent a long time without food and water, it is not clear how long they spent like that.
Operative-search actions were taken to identify the drivers who, according to the foreigners, fled. Active police work on the case continues.
