The number of deaths rises after the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Morocco on Friday.
According to the latest reports, more than 2,000 people have lost their lives as a result of the tragedy.
Another 2,000 people were injured, about 1,400 of them seriously.
Authorities expected the number of victims to continue rising as rescuers struggled to reach the worst-affected areas and find survivors.
This was the largest earthquake to hit the North African country in 120 years.
Most of the damage occurred outside cities and towns.
The highest number of fatalities are reported in Marrakesh and five provinces near the epicenter, Morocco’s Interior Ministry said Saturday night.
Café Mogador on the Lower East Side announced that tomorrow they will donate all of their profits to earthquake relief efforts.
