Emil Aleksander and his friend Morten Johan Åsvang Halvorsen (18) died after a boat ran aground on the night of 26 August in Meløy municipality in Nordland.

The family has given Dagbladet permission to use the picture of Emil Aleksander Johansen Pedersen.
The family writes that the 19-year-old was an “inalienable son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin”.

The accident has affected the small Nordland municipality.
– It is a tragic event. We have lost two young people in an accident, and it is something that affects the entire Meløy community today, said the mayor of Meløy, Sigurd Stormo (Ap), to Dagbladet.
Nine people were on board when the boat ran aground. The seven survivors were charged with breaching the Small Boat Act. The police have later stated that the grounds for suspicion have weakened for everyone except the boat driver.
