Tragedy in Vico Equense: 7-year-old boy drowns in swimming pool

Tragedy in Vico Equense, in the Sorrento Peninsula, where a 7-year-old boy, originally from Castellammare di Stabia (Naples), drowned after diving into the swimming pool of the farmhouse where he was staying.
The parents and other people present immediately provided assistance, but despite attempts to resuscitate him, the little boy did not make it. The Carabinieri of the Sorrento company intervened on the scene and are investigating to shed light on the circumstances of the accident.

An investigation has been opened
The Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation. The investigations are underway and it is likely that the body of the little boy, originally from Castellammare di Stabia, will be seized for an autopsy.
The Carabinieri, who are investigating the episode, are not ruling out any hypothesis, including that of illness or congestion that left no escape for the child. According to what has been learned, the child was seen unconscious in the water and rescued by the lifeguard present in the facility as well as by his parents. Despite attempts to revive him, however, the child never regained consciousness.
