A tragedy occurred on the asphalt at noon on Thursday, specifically in the industrial area of Agios Silas in Limassol, with the victim being 29-year-old Panos Theodorou.
The accident occurred while the unfortunate 29-year-old was operating a forklift.
In particular, the 29-year-old man was operating and driving a forklift on a public road, while at some point on the road he seems to have lost control of his vehicle, which deviated from its path sharply to the right, causing it to close to the left. The driver lost his balance as a result of which he fell on the asphalt and crashed resulting in instant death.
The victim was freed by his own relatives, with the help of the Fire Service, and was taken to the Limassol hospital, where the doctors on duty confirmed his death.
It is worth noting that the vehicle in question was not registered and under normal circumstances should have been used within the factory for work purposes.
The circumstances under which the accident occurred are being investigated by the Limassol Traffic Department in collaboration with the Polemidion Police Department and the Labor Inspection Department.
