Tragedy in Bastille, 16 years old dies at home

Giulia Lucenti, victim of an illness, had heart problems. To find her mother. Mayor Silvestri: “Without words”

Bastille. Giulia Lucenti died at 16. The tragedy took place yesterday afternoon in Bastille in his home probably due to an illness. To find the body of the teenager was the mother, Oxana, who immediately activated the rescue. Within minutes, his father, Lorenzo, also rushed. An ambulance was on site, but the health workers could not do anything for Giulia.

“I learned of the tragedy in the late afternoon,” explains the mayor of Bastiglia Francesca Silvestri who until yesterday was out of town. “I immediately called Lorenzo to offer my condolences and those of the entire city administration.”

The mayor’s sentences are anything but circumstance: “I am shocked by the pain – she continues – I have no more words”.

The thoughts of the entire community of Bastille go to Giulia’s parents and sister; the retired father, in particular, is well known in the village for his commitment and his volunteer activity in the sports club. The news of the tragedy struck and shocked everyone, so much so that the mayor decided to cancel the events that were scheduled last night. A children’s show that no longer made sense after what happened in the afternoon.

Now there are many whys left. Only today will it be known whether any autopsy tests will be carried out on the body of the 16-year-old who suffered from heart problems and who two days ago received the second dose of the anti-Covid vaccine, Pfizer, as her father told The Press.

«I accompanied her yesterday to Castelfranco for the second dose of Pfizer vaccine – explained Lorenzo Lucenti – With the first injection she had no particular reaction and even yesterday after the injection she showed no discomfort. I don’t think the vaccine affected, the first dose did nothing. In any case, I don’t care why, I would do anything to bring her back here with me, but it’s not possible ».

As always happens in these cases a report will be made to Aifa (Italian Medicines Agency).

Giulia’s funeral will be set shortly. And once again the Bastille community will be forced to greet one of its youngest souls. A few weeks ago the country had been hit by another tragedy, the disappearance of Azra, struck down two years by an illness. And also in Bastille lived Laila El Harim, her 40-year-old mother who was the victim of an accident at work at the “Bombonette” company in Camposanto.

«This is a tragic summer – continues the mayor Silvestri – not even the flood has brought us so much pain. I’m really upset. “
