The victim died as a result of the explosion smelter furnace PT Indonesia Tsingshan Stainless Steel (ITSS) in Morowali, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) has increased. Now a total of 16 people have reportedly died.
Reported detikSulsel, Tuesday (26/12/2023) there were three additional deaths, totaling three people who suffered serious injuries and were treated in hospital. Two of them are foreign workers (TKA) from China.
“There are 3 (seriously injured victims who died today in hospital),” said Morowali Police Chief AKBP Suprianto to detikcomMonday (25/12/2023).
Suprianto said the three deaths were two foreign workers from China and one worker from Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi (Sulbar). The three of them received treatment at the Morowali Regional Hospital after suffering severe burns.
“TKA 2 (who died). Yes (one Indonesian worker from West Sulawesi),” he explained.
Meanwhile, Media Relations Head of PT IMIP Dedy Kurniawan said the bodies of 4 foreign workers from China would be taken to their home country. The four bodies were taken to Makassar, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) and then flown to China.
“Specifically for the bodies of foreign workers, PT IMIP has dispatched the bodies of the four foreign workers to Makassar via land route on Sunday evening (24/12). Then the bodies will be flown to China, China,” said Dedy Kurniawan in his statement.
