On the first special stage of the Šumava Klatovy Rally, car number 55 had an accident, in which the female passenger was seriously injured. The rescue services immediately started extricating her from the crashed car, after which she was transported by the air ambulance to the Pilsen University Hospital. Unfortunately, despite all the medical care, the competitor died in the afternoon. All the organizers were deeply affected by the situation and expressed their deepest condolences to all the survivors.

“It needs to be emphasized that the provision of the special stage was completely in accordance with the required safety standards. Unfortunately, even then, situations can arise that cannot be completely prevented even with the best measures. The sports race was in full swing at the time of discovering this tragic news. Nevertheless, the directorate of the competition proposed not to continue in the race and ended the competition after an agreement with the riders. The competition was terminated and cancelled, the crews will not be awarded points for the national championship,” informed the organizers.

A serious accident happened on Saturday, April 20, at the Šumava Rally in Klatovsk. The female passenger from crew number 55 died with her. Therefore, the organizers ended the race prematurely. Already on Friday, April 19, during the Historic Vltava Rally, which is also held in Klatovsk, the Austrian Porsche driver Michael Putz was seriously injured.
On Saturday the crew crashed number 55 Krejčík and Krejčíková. “Unfortunately, at half past one, another traffic accident occurred during the special stage at the Šumava Rally. Near the village of Strážov, a Czech driver born in 1979 with a Subaru Impreza drove the vehicle off the track and into a field for reasons that have not yet been determined, where it crashed. In a woman born in 1983 was driving the car with him as a passenger. Alcohol was ruled out in the driver’s breath, but a blood sample was also ordered from him in the hospital. The accident will be further investigated by police officers from the regional department of Klatovy,” said police spokesman Ondřej Hodan.
The woman suffered very serious injuries and, after resuscitation, the rescuers airlifted her to the Emergency FN Plzeň in Lochotín, unconscious with her airway secured. “Unfortunately, despite all the efforts of the doctors, she succumbed to her injuries in the hospital,” informed the police spokesperson.

The organizer of the Šumava Rally PAMK informed on its social networks that the accident of the crew of starting number 55 occurred during the first pass of RZ1 Janovická. “An ambulance was called to the injured crew member and he was transported by helicopter to the hospital. We would like to appeal to all the spectators at the tracks to strictly follow all the instructions of the organizers. The conditions on the special stages are difficult,” the organizers said.
In connection with the situation, there will be an evening meeting with the crews, at which the further course of the competition will be decided. “All the organizers were very affected by the situation and express their deepest condolences to all the survivors,” said PAMK. On Saturday, the organizers ended the competition early.
