Traffic on major highways is still smooth, but traffic is increasing, especially on the return route, and vehicles heading to Seoul are starting to drive slowly in some sections.
If you leave for Seoul now, it will take 5 hours and 20 minutes from Busan, 4 hours and 20 minutes from Daegu, 4 hours and 40 minutes from Mokpo, 1 hour and 30 minutes from Daejeon, and 2 hours and 40 minutes from Gangneung.
The Korea Expressway Corporation predicted that 5.15 million vehicles will move across the country today, including 480,000 from the provinces to the metropolitan area and 370,000 from the metropolitan area to the provinces.
As for the traffic flow in the return direction, congestion on the Gyeongbu Line and West Coast Line is expected to begin at 8 a.m., on the Jungbu Line and Yeongdong Line from 11 a.m. to noon, and on the Seoul-Yangyang Line, slow movement and congestion are expected to increase from 2 p.m.
Additionally, it was analyzed that congestion in the return direction would reach its peak around 4 to 5 p.m. and then resolve around 2 or 3 a.m. tomorrow.
On the other hand, while traffic flow in the direction of Gyeongseong is generally smooth, traffic flow on the Gyeongbu Line and Seoul-Yangyang Line is expected to be somewhat congested.
