In order to relieve inner-city traffic, two roads are to be widened in Offenbach. On the one hand, the Böhlweg should be usable as a municipal road in the future, on the other hand, there could soon be a western outskirts road with a connection to the new development areas. At its most recent meeting, the municipal council therefore decided to carry out a traffic survey in order to be able to decide on further structural measures. Two companies had made an offer for the survey. The council voted unanimously for the company Modus Consult from Ulm, which has already carried out several traffic surveys in Karlsruhe, Bellheim and Germersheim. The company intends to equip eleven junctions in the area with video technology over three days in order to measure both transit and originating traffic, i.e. traffic going out of the district. Cost point: 29,438 euros. In the budget, 30,000 euros were earmarked for the measurements. The survey should be completed by the end of the year.
