Two cars have collided at the beginning of Trollstigen, direction from Åndalsnes.

– Both cars are in the middle of the road, with the front facing the ditch. The road is completely closed. There are long queues at the site, says operations manager Tor Andre Gram Franck in the Møre and Romsdal police district.

– No injuries have been reported.

– When will the road open?

– Car recovery is on its way, so when it arrives and helps the cars, the road will probably open relatively quickly.

There are two Norwegian cars involved in the accident, but there are many tourists in Trollstigen, says the operations manager.

– People had to vent the bugs

– The queue is dissolving now. People have been queuing for an hour, so I assume that some are impatient and eager to get on, says Arnt Morten Olsen.

He says that traffic has been at a standstill for over an hour, and that there have been long queues in both directions.

– Many people got out of the car and aired the dog and themselves almost, says Olsen.

– How is the situation now?

– There is a bit of a backlog and driving in jerks, now that the queue is clearing up.

This is confirmed by the head of operations in the police.

– The police are directing traffic at the site now, after the queue dissolves, says operations manager Gram Franck at 1.22pm in an update
