The storm Filomena already discharges over the Region of Murcia. We have rain throughout the territory and snow, as expected, in the northwest and the highlands.
The Director of Civil Protection has decreed situation 1 of the emergency phase of the Civil Protection Plan against Snowfall and Cold Waves at the beginning of the snowfall episode and, consequently, the difficulties in the circulation of vehicles by road:
- There is a Red level on the RM-730 from km 32 to km 41 as it passes through Moratalla. Driving conditions are difficult and trucks and articulated vehicles are prohibited. Chains are mandatory.
- On the A-91, in Puerto Lumbreras there is a yellow level due to snowfall.
- On the Northwest Highway, RM15 Yellow Level at the height of Bullas.
- Also yellow level in Caravaca and Moratalla in three ways: RM-703, RM-702 and RM-711. The RM715 towards the province of Albacete is also the same.
- In Yecla, the N-344 and the RM-426 towards Almansa are at Yellow level due to snowfall.
- On the RM-F26, in Torre Pacheco there has been a pool of water between km 3 and 7 and the road has been closed.
With this action, says the department responsible for emergencies, “it is intended to guarantee the viability and safety of the roads in the Region of Murcia, although it is recommended to avoid trips that are not essential.”
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) maintains for this Thursday the orange warning of adverse meteorological phenomena due to snowfall.
In the Northwest area, the orange warning is for snow accumulation that can reach 4 inches in 24 hours. The scheduled time of the episode is from 00:00 to 11:59.
In the Altiplano region, it establishes an orange warning for snow accumulation that can reach six centimeters in 24 hours. The scheduled time of the episode is from 00:00 to 11:59.
In the region of Valle del Guadalentín, Lorca and Águilas, a yellow warning is established for the accumulation of snow that can reach two centimeters in 24 hours.
In addition, the yellow warnings of coastal phenomena are maintained on the coast of the Region of Murcia.
