After the disruptions due to snow earlier in the morning, it was an isolated incident which stopped traffic on a large part of the RER D this Thursday afternoon. Around 1:45 p.m., a catenary break occurred in the Stade de France area.
Several cables were thus broken, leading to the paralysis of traffic on the RER D between Gare de Lyon and Creil, on the northern part of the RER. Following the incident, an emergency power cut was requested. SNCF specifies that traffic should resume around 4 p.m.

“Our teams are in the process of implementing an adapted transport plan in order to be able to run trains,” tweeted the official RER D account on X (formerly Twitter). A map of alternative routes was also published in order to help travelers move between Stade de France and Gare de Lyon, the first sector affected, during the intervention.
During its 3 p.m. information point, RER D account X indicates that a ZACO train was blocked at Stade de France station and that travelers can finally be evacuated. Trains will not re-circulate until complete evacuation and repair of the damage.
📢Point Info [15h] :
Passengers on the ZACO train who suffered the catenary break and were stuck at Stade de France are being evacuated.
❌Trains are held up long enough to allow safe evacuation.

This Thursday morning, it was more the RER C which was first affected, with a section between Versailles-Chantiers and Massy-Palaiseau impassable for several hours until 10 a.m. The buses, for their part, got into working order as the roads allowed after last night’s snowfall, until they resumed optimal service.
