The Public Relations Division of the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces reported, “In continuation of the maintenance work for the lighting lamps inside the airport tunnels – “Al-Kokoudi” / Western Route, by one of the contracting companies, and in accordance with the letter of the Governor of Mount Lebanon, traffic leading to the two tunnels will be prohibited. The western lane is from 20:00 until 06:00 the next morning, starting tomorrow, Monday 11/27/2023, until 12/02/2023, and will be transferred to adjacent roads as follows:
– Cutting off traffic from Al-Assad Highway towards the tunnel and diverting it towards Al-Awza’i.
– Diverting traffic coming from the airport towards the Cocody Tunnel.
– Cutting off traffic from the old airport road towards the tunnels.
The directorate explained, “To prevent congestion, drivers heading from Beirut towards Khaldeh must take the road extending from Ain Al-Mreisseh, Al-Manara, Ramlet Al-Bayda, Al-Janaah, Al-Awza’i, and Khaldeh.”
She asked “distinguished citizens to take note and adhere to the directives and instructions of the members of the Internal Security Forces assigned to carry out this mission, and to the directional traffic signs, in order to preserve public safety and prevent congestion.”
