Traffic Flow in Puncak Bogor Jammed, Vehicle Queues Snaking from Gadog Intersection

BOGOR DISTRICT, KOMPAS.com – Condition of vehicular traffic on the Line Bogor PeakWest Java, crowded on Friday (29/4/2022) evening or D-3 Lebaran.

The condition of density or congestion was observed to occur from Simpang Gadog to the direction of Pasir Muncang.

Four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles to tourism buses were seen queuing out of the Ciawi Toll Gate (GT) exit and/or from the Gadog red light, Ciawi heading towards the top of Puncak Bogor.

A number of officers were seen managing traffic to snaking the queue of vehicles that were stuck in the lane.

As a result of this congestion, two-wheeled vehicles appear to be advancing slowly and often stop.

Meanwhile, from the opposite direction or towards the bottom or Jakarta tends to be a little smoother.

The Head of Regulation, Guard, Escort and Patrol (Turjawali) of the Bogor Polres Satlantas Ipda Ardian said the traffic jam occurred because of a meeting between motorists and local people who were doing takjil or shopping for takjil.

Moreover, this weekend also coincides with the Eid homecoming situation.

“So the flow to the top has stalled because there was a meeting with vehicles from local residents who wanted to break their fast. So it was blocked (congested), yes, it was about 800 meters,” said Ardian when met at Simpang Gadog, Friday.

Ardian ensured that the traffic jam would end after Maghrib or iftar.

“Well, when the maghrib call has arrived, the community has returned to their respective homes to break their fast, it will go smoothly by itself,” he said.

“The reason is that people’s activities looking for takjil to break their fast, yes ngabuburit, but the traffic jam is only for a moment,” he added.
