The castle forest will be closed to traffic from Friday 1/9 at 8:00 am and will reopen on 4/9 at 7:00 pm.
Margeretebergsgatan is closed Sunday 3/9 at 8.00-19.00.
To avoid accessibility problems, we recommend the pedestrian and cycle path on the east side of the Dag Hammarskjöldsleden – Änggården – Per Dubbsgatan and vice versa.
The track runs through the center and on both sides of the river. Along the track, adjacent streets are closed in stages between 10:30 and 19:00. If you have parked inside and along the track, you run the risk of not getting out of there in the time you expected.
Remember to plan your errands and activities according to the prevailing traffic situation on this day!
Linnéplatsen, Linnégatan, LandsvägsgatanHaga Nygata and Sprängkullsgatan are closed at around 10.30-12.00.
Central area has severely limited accessibility for all traffic allowances. If you do not have a destination within the marked area, you should avoid driving here to avoid sitting in long queues.
Norra Sjöfarten and Operagatan will be closed to traffic from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you have parked on the eastern side of Västra Hamngatan, Kungstorget or Grönsakstorget and are going east or to Hisingen, the only way to get out is to drive Västra Hamngatan – Nya Allén – Järntorget – Götatunneln.
Nordstans P-hus you reach via Nils Ericsonsgatan from Åkareplatsen. You can only get out of Nordstan via Östra Hamngatan.
During the race, there is no possibility to pass over the stretch of track in the center. You can use pedestrian locks along Östra Hamngatan, Kungsportsplatsen, Kungsportsavenyn and Vasagatan.
The Hoisting Bridge – You who cycle or walk are directed to the eastern side of the bridge between 10.30 and 16.30. It is best to choose the eastern side already from Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen.
The area along the track section i Eriksberg, Östra Sannegården, Lindholmen and Frihamnen are closed from 10.30 to 17.30.
If you live in the area and need to use the car, remember to plan your errands and activities after this by parking the car outside the closure.
Älvsborg bridge has limited access for pedestrians and cyclists who are directed to the west side of the bridge.
Traffic is affected for all road users on this day, so expect longer walks and longer journeys! Be out in time!
Around 200,000 spectators are expected to follow the race and accessibility along the course is very limited. If you have the opportunity, leave the car at home!
Parking under the Gothenburg Yard Marathon
To facilitate the accessibility of the runners, the start and finish area will be closed already at 08.00, therefore avoid taking the car to the start area. If you must take the car, feel free to choose the parking facilities in the Järntorg area, Gårda, Heden or the car parks in the City and take public transport from there. It is prohibited to park along the track, along the paths and on footpaths and cycle paths. You must also not obstruct residents’ entrances and exits.
