DANVIK: A small truck crashed in the railway underpass at Danvik on Wednesday evening. Operations manager Espen Reite in the police informs Drammens Tidende.
A patrol rushed to the scene.
According to Drammens Tidende’s reporter at the scene, the driver must have been driving on GPS. The person had a customer 600 meters from the underpass, when he knocked into the underpass and got stuck.
The police on the scene state that the driver has laid down completely and admitted that he has not been careful enough. Whether there will be any criminal proceedings on the part of the police has not yet been decided.
Reduced speed
Bane Nor was quickly notified and sent Spordrift out to the scene. They stated that the trains had to run at a reduced speed until the underpass has been examined for any damage.
– When the lorry has been removed, I start to check that there have been no crookedness on the bridge, Asbjørn Nikolaisen told Spordrift.
Bilberger was there at 9.45pm. He struggled for a long time to get the truck out of the underpass, and started by cutting open a fiberglass cover that caused trouble for the recovery. Just before 10.30 p.m., the lorry was freed from the underpass.
At 22.45, the police reported that no damage had been discovered on the bridge, and that traffic is back to normal.
No one was injured in the incident, but the truck sustained some material damage.
