Traffic Congestion in PIK Area Causes Frustration for Jakarta Residents During New Year Holiday

Jakarta

Congestion occurred in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area (PIK), North Jakarta during the New Year holiday. Residents also complained about this traffic jam when going to and from the PIK area.

Rohim (56), a resident of Salemba, Central Jakarta, admitted that he had experienced traffic jams since entering the PIK area this afternoon. Rohim also still feels traffic jams when he wants to go home at night.

Rohim travel in the area PIK using a four-wheeled vehicle. In his car, there were his wife and children.

“This has been the traffic jam since. In the afternoon, around 5 o’clock. From the moment I arrived I already felt the traffic jam. Not bad, there was traffic jam for about 2 hours,” said Rohim when met in the PIK area, North Jakarta, Monday (1/1/2024) .

Apart from Rohim, another resident who also feels traffic jams in the PIK area is Tarsono (36). He deliberately traveled from Grogol to PIK to have dinner with his family.

However, Tarsono said he had to be willing to get stuck in traffic jams along the road. He explained that he experienced traffic jams from the start when he arrived at the PIK area. Even on his way home, he still felt traffic jams.

“I’m tired (I feel). If I want to eat with my family, I have to get stuck in traffic jams first, where the traffic jams are long, long. But what can I do, I’ve already arrived here,” said Tarsono to detikcom at location.
