Just before 11am, the transport company announced that the situation had normalized. “City buses are running according to schedule again,” the spokeswoman said. According to the district office, bus traffic in the Main-Spessart district is severely restricted overall.
The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of a persistent ice sheet in Northern Franconia and Northern Upper Palatinate “sometimes until morning”. In some areas it could even rain again and as a result new black ice could form.
