The A4 from Rotterdam to Antwerp has been closed since a quarter past five on Sunday night at the exit to Tholen in Zeeland, after an accident. Several vehicles collided there. According to Rijkswaterstaat, the devastation is extensive.
Due to the seriousness of the situation, a trauma helicopter was called in.
Take a detour
Around a quarter past seven on Monday morning, the closure led to more than half an hour’s delay from Dinteloord. A diversion has been set up. Traffic is advised to drive via Roosendaal, on the A59 and the A17.
Rijkswaterstaat reports that the road will probably not be opened until noon.
