NæRØYSUND: The descent took place near Storvollen in Nærøysund shortly after 11pm on Saturday evening.
– All airbags in the car are activated. The car didn’t stray far from the road it came off of. The people in the cars were lucky that the camp was close to the stretch of road, Nærøysund fire brigade emergency manager Tor Ove Meidal tells NA.
To be interrogated
According to the police, there must have been four people in the car. Two of these were sent to the emergency room after the car crash, with apparently minor injuries.
– The patrol at the scene is contacting those involved for questioning, as well as an investigation at the crime scene, wrote the police on Twitter on Sunday night.
No witnesses
According to police, the driver is an 18-year-old man.
– Your driving license has been temporarily confiscated. Drunk driving is not suspected, police wrote.
There should have been no witnesses to the accident and, according to Meidal of the Nærøysund Fire Brigade, it should not have been slippery at the place where the descent took place.
– It is still difficult for us to say anything about the cause of the accident. We have not spoken to the people involved, says the emergency manager.
