This Saturday morning the death of a motorcyclist was reported on Monseñor Óscar Arnulfo Romero Boulevard. Agents of the National Civil Police (PNC) maintain that the excessive speed caused the person to lose control of the motorcycle.
The following message was broadcast on the X account of the police corporation: “On Monseñor Romero Boulevard we reported a deceased motorcyclist. According to initial investigations, the accident was due to excessive speed. Be careful if he passes through the area.”
PNC traffic elements carried out an inspection to incorporate the data into the final report. The name of the deceased was not released and caution was advised when passing by the accident site.
Excess speed is considered to be one of the main causes of traffic accidents in El Salvador. According to the National Road Safety Observatory, from January 1 to March 31, 4,816 traffic accidents were reported, leaving 2,831 injured and 331 dead.
