This afternoon a traffic accident was reported at kilometer 62.5 of the highway that leads from Sonsonate to San Salvador, in the jurisdiction of Izalco, leaving a person with injuries to different parts of the body.
Civil Protection personnel responded to the emergency and stated that the driver of the pick-up vehicle lost control and overturned at the aforementioned location. The injured person was taken to an area hospital.
The identity of the patient was not revealed, as was the condition in which he entered a sanatorium in Sonsonate. The accident caused congestion in both lanes and the presence of members of the National Civil Police (PNC) was necessary to order traffic.
Still in Sonsonate, members of the El Salvador Fire Department put out the fire of an all-terrain vehicle. It was said that the incident was caused by a short circuit, with no reports of burns or smoke inhalation.
