A school bus drives head-on into a tree in Trier. Several people are injured. The situation is still unclear in the morning.

Several children were injured in an accident with a school bus in Trier on Wednesday morning. “There are serious and minor injuries. Rescue workers are on site,” said the city of Trier on Twitter. The police confirmed that the driver was seriously injured. Accordingly, the bus drove head-on into a tree. The fire brigade had written in a first message from several injured children.
According to the information, the vehicle was traveling towards the city center with around 40 people. The bus came off the track for an initially unknown reason and crashed into the tree, as the police spokesman said. Accordingly, the situation in the morning was still confusing. According to initial findings, the police initially spoke of at least six slightly injured people.
The city of Trier announced on Twitter that drivers should switch to the other side of the Moselle. In addition, the Toni-Chorus-Halle was prepared by the rescue workers as a contact point for parents of affected children.
