Traditional Guadalupe procession through the streets of NYC

And dozens of parishioners celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe in a traditional procession that goes through the streets of Manhattan every year.

The tour left early this morning from the Santísimo Nombre de Jesús church located on 96th street and Amsterdam avenue in the direction of 14th street.

Moved by faith and devotion, the parishioners walked with the Guadalupano fire and religious images.

“We are 120 people today, let’s hope that next year there will be more and we hope in God who helps us to keep coming more people to run with us,” said one of the faithful.

Someone else added: “Very happy and content to represent our church since every year after year we come thanks to God and the Virgin who gives us life.”

This afternoon Eucharistic celebrations are held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Diocese of Brooklyn.
