A draft agreement

The establishment of the Coffee Museum in the municipality of Chinchiná is the result of an initiative by José William Arango López, president of that Corporation. The project also managed the necessary resources to make this cultural attraction a reality. This initiative will be presented this August to the Corporation’s plenary session for study and approval, as planned by the project’s author.

Dresses of inclusion

A significant contribution to the museum was the donation made by the LGTBIQ+ activist, Libertad Salazar. Who donated her skirt and apron as a sign of the empowerment of trans women in the coffee harvest. “The initiative was mine, I approached the president and told him that I wanted to participate. I love coffee and I consider that this is a representation of a project called Almas Cafeteras, which seeks to empower coffee, diversity and inclusion,”

What did you think?

Jorge Arias, communicator

It is something very striking because it gives life to the entrance of the Council. It shows all the idiosyncrasy, the culture that this coffee land has, displaying the different types of coffee, everything that our ancestors and farmers used in their time.

Luz Angela Valencia, secretary

It is a very good initiative, as it gives us a better vision, attracts tourists and we are promoting a significant product of the region.

Adolfo Leon Naranjo, public employee

I think the President’s motivation for creating this museum is excellent; nothing like this has ever been seen before, and every day I pass by and see something new.
