Trade Unions Claim Delhaize’s Recent Social Dialogue Was Unfruitful

At 9.30 this morning there was a new social consultation, in a tense atmosphere. There were certainly no great expectations among the trade unions beforehand. “We hope that today the management will finally put another plan on the table for the 9,000 employees, other than cao32 bis, but we are not naive. I fear that we will end up in the same scenario as the past 14 days,” said Koen De Punder, trade union representative at ACV Puls, this morning.

After less than an hour, the consultation was over, without result. The management is sticking to its plan to transfer the 128 under its own management to independent operators. She does not want to respond to the demand of the trade unions to withdraw the plan, says Koen De Punder.
